This is the part nobody photographs.

Every picture on this site is one of Devin's own jobs in this county. No stock photography, no smiling man holding a cardboard box.

The county refuses exactly what you need gone.

The Athens Community Collection Station at 500 Aaron Street, Athens is open Saturdays only, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., excluding holiday weekends, to City of Athens residents only, and it wants a driver's licence and a current city water bill at the gate.

If you live anywhere else in this county — which is most of it — that station is not available to you at all. Federal Clean Air Act §608 requires refrigerant to be recovered with certified equipment before an appliance is scrapped. That is why the stations turn refrigerators away — it is not arbitrary.

Turned away at the gate

  • Appliances containing Freon
  • Hazardous waste
  • Construction debris
  • Waste oil and fluids
  • Asphalt shingles
  • Tires
  • Dirt
  • Batteries

Devin does great work. Highly recommend. He came and removed junk from my shop and hauled it off. He even swept out the shop when he finished.

05Common questionsFAQ
Is there a minimum?

No. One couch is a job. A single appliance is a job.

How is a price figured?

Volume first — how much of the trailer it fills — then item type and how far it has to be carried. You get the number before work starts, and every job is quoted rather than run off a published rate card.

Do you take refrigerators and freezers?

Yes. The collection stations will not — anything containing Freon is refused at the gate under Clean Air Act rules. That is the single most common thing in this county a homeowner cannot solve with a borrowed truck.

How do I pay?

Venmo, Zelle, check or cash. No card processing.

Are you open on weekends?

Sometimes — it depends on the week's schedule. Weekdays are Mon–Fri, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.. For a Saturday or Sunday, call and ask.
